At Perrin, we brew a special beer each time a brewing team member has a new child. This beer was brewed for Ellie, Sawyer, and the newest addition to the King Family, Penny. It may appear to be just a beer, but this mysterious liquid holds many secrets. Brewed with zero hops, this ancient style is sure to make you question everything you thought you knew about “beer”. Brewed with sumac, hibiscus, and rose hips instead of hops, this gruit (grew-it) has a nice earthy and floral backbone. With the addition of locally harvested cider during the extended fermentation, the finished product is a perfect blend of fruity tartness. Rose and hibiscus petals added after fermentation will entice your nose as you enjoy this perfectly balanced gruit.
