Beer description
Pic-Barrique is a Belgian-style lambic beer. This beer was brewed using the traditional mashing method for Belgian lambics known as turbid mash. After fermentation, the beer was transferred to Chianti oak barrels, to which lactic acid bacteria (Lactobacillus and Streptococcus) and wild yeasts (Brettaromyces) were added. After ageing in barrels, these micro-organisms gave the beer a fruity acidity, a rhubarb flavour and aromas of earth, baking, hay and cowshed. In short, a wild, rustic and funky beer for connoisseurs! (SRM 3)
