Beer description
In celebration of Juneteenth we made a special beer inspired by the history and significance of this date. There are mentions of red drinks at Juneteenth celebrations linking back to hibiscus flowers, a native West African plants which were stewed to make a reddish tea called bissap. Hibiscus was extracted and transported to the Caribbean and the Americas during the Atlantic slave trade.
Our beer starts with a lager base which is then mixed with a housemade strawberry and ginger syrup and steeped hibiscus flowers.
Proceeds from this beer's sales will be donated to the National Black Brewers Association.
