Grisette can mean a number of things from ‘women in a grey dress’ to grey’apron’ and ‘lady of the evening’ after the French Revolution to describe the peasant street walkers of the time. It can also mean hop pickers or women who served beer to miners. One thing these all have in common is the color grey.
