Skovlyst Bryggehus - Owl Coffee Stout

Skovlyst Owl is a coffee stout brewed at the family brewery La Goudale. The beer is so potent that its flavor almost drifts into the world of liqueurs, with hints of port and Kahlua liqueur. In our Vintage Selection series we pay homage to the animals of the forest, and for 2022 we have chosen the beautiful and unfortunately far too rare owl as the name and motif. An owl doesn't draw much attention, and that shows in Owl with a gentle bitterness. At the same time, the owl is a powerful hunter - an intense predator that hunts at night. Therefore, an intense coffee character created by the Arabica bean stands out in the smooth stout, which has a dark character like the night. We achieved that by using different chocolate malts - and then we found an interesting combination of specialty malts, barley and wheat.
