Beer description
A dark brown beer verging on black, almost opaque. The head is brown, fine-textured, creamy, and persistent. The aroma highlights the toasty notes of the malts, ranging from coffee and cocoa to dried fruit, with hints of dark-fleshed fruit. On the palate, even better when served at the ideal cellar temperature, it is complex, with a pronounced yet balanced bitterness. The aromas detected on the nose are present, along with notes of dark caramel and hints reminiscent of certain aromas typical of fortified wines; the finish also reveals notes of licorice. Carbonation is medium-low, and the body is overall round and full. Designed to warm up cold winter days, it is best enjoyed slowly and in good company. It is also excellent as a dessert wine or paired with a rich, creamy dessert such as tiramisu.
