Bottom fermented
Fermentation
Beer description
“March Beer” was first served after a long lagering period at the 1872 Oktoberfest. It is a bottom-fermented amber beer with a moderately persistent, cream-colored head; on the nose, the clean malt aroma evokes bread and bread crust. On the palate, the initial sensation is sweet, followed by a moderate bitterness that balances it out, resulting in a dry finish; significant malt aromas are also present in the aftertaste, evoking the olfactory sensations of bread, bread crust, and grain. Carbonation is moderate, and the alcohol content imparts a slight warmth.
