Beer description
This is the first release of the ‘18
Spontaneous season. We used 50 lbs of
Montmorency cherries from Washington
Fruit Place in Yakima in each of four
different barrels to provide their native
culture to ferment our gold base
spontaneously. Montmorency cherries are
the traditional sour pie cherry and provide
a subtle cherry pie flavor and aroma and
their almost translucent red skin and flesh
provides just a touch of color to the gold
base.
Bracingly sour, mildly funky, this beer’s
fermentation qualities are unique to the
land that the cherries were grown.
