Beer description
The pride of our brewery, St. Olaf is a traditional Pale Ale suitable for kings and horsemen alike. The beer takes its name from St. Olav, after whom the best preserved medieval fortress in the Nordic countries - St. Olav's Castle - is named.
St. Olaf is a fresh and citrusy pale ale hopped with American Citra hops. The beer is a single hop, which means that only one hop variety is used. St. Olaf uses Finnish barley and wheat malt.
The beer is orange-gold in colour, like pale amber. The aromas of the beer are citrusy with a hint of tropical fruit. More moderate bitterness than typical of Maussa American pale ales gives way to a fresh fruitiness and a biscuity, caramel malt base.
