Beer description
Their version of this Biere de Garde style used German malt to provide the subtle toasty malt flavor, French Strisselspalt hops to add a subtle herbal aroma, and a French ale yeast for light fruity flavors and a dry finish. They aged the beer for four months, a portion of it in French oak Cabernet barrels to mature the beer and develop authentic Biere de Garde character. The toasty malt aromas blend seamlessly with the plummy fruit and vanilla aromas from the barrel, resulting in a complex, yet subtle beer that is full of flavor yet dry enough to leave you wanting more.
