Beer description
A Barley Wine that doesn't go overboard on the hops front (hence the 'American' name), with big blasts of Chinook, Cascade and Simcoe, plus a nice load of Citra in the Dry Hop (while we're at it).
So yes, it's got a lot of alcohol and a lot of hops, but the feeling is rather dry and fairly bitter, with lovely aromatic notes of mango and citrus fruit, backed up by a malty base with a hint of toffee and woodiness.
If you're expecting roundness and sweetness, you've had it!
It certainly packs a punch, but with richness, complexity and a little finger in the air! ☝️
