Beer description
When decided to make this Doppelbock for fall of 2017, felt like it was a great opportunity to experiment with barrel aging some more “clean” beer. This higher gravity lager full of rich, sweet flavor and mild hop bitterness seemed to almost beg to be added to a bourbon barrel. Allowing this traditional German Lager to mellow in Willet Bourbon barrels let the rich beer mingled with the oak and whiskey flavors to create a robust yet drinkable barrel aged experience.
