Upland - Sound Bite

Sound Bite, 2nd Side Trail brew of 2019, is brewed in honor of Record Store Day. Occurring this year on April 13th , Record Store Day is an annual event held to celebrate the culture of the independent record store. Like many previous iterations of Side Trail Series, Sound Bite is another exploration into the innovative East Coast style of “Juicy” hop-forward beers. The goal of this style is to produce a beer that accentuates and magnifies all the best flavors of tropical/citrusy hop varieties while virtually eliminating the bitterness common of American IPAs and mimicking the appearance and creamy texture of a glass of orange juice. Sound Bite is brewed to explore the lighter, more refreshing side of the style. With a lighter body, but still creamy mouthfeel, and a low abv. of 4.7%, this session New England Style Pale Ale delivers all the powerful citrus and tropical flavors that drinkers have come to expect from the style without the excessively rich sweetness that can get in the way of refreshment.
