Beer description

A bold Baltic porter: drinkable and dry, dark fruity with 6% alcohol. Inspired by the story of the Varyag crew. On 9 February 1904, a Japanese squadron of six cruisers and eight destroyers blockaded the Varyag and the gunboat Koreets in the port of Chemulpo. Captain "Varyag" Vsevolod Rudnev decided to go to sea and take the fight, making an attempt to break through to Port Arthur. The ratio of forces gave almost no chance of success, but the crew supported the captain's decision. When the "Varyag" and "Koreets" left the port, the ships of neutral powers sang the anthem of the Russian Empire as a sign of respect for the courage of Russian sailors, going to certain death. Taking an unequal battle, the sailors of the "Varyag" showed the enemy that there would be no easy victory in the war with Russia, that every soldier would stand to the end. At first glance it seems that the Varyag's feat is not connected with Voronezh. But no: 15 people of the crew were from Voronezh and the province. The names of the heroes are on the label.
