Verdant Brewing - Why Am I Like This?

“Why am I like this?”, a lovely 6% West Coast IPA first (and last) brewed in 2022. Back then, we took learnings from our West Coast style fresh hop beers, resulting in this punchy mother-daughter hop affair! Bitter, dry but smooth feels with masses of pine sap, grapefruit, tropical notes and dank. For this rebrew, we used hops from this year’s Yakima Hop Selection tour, where our very own Lawrence, Sam and Tim selected Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe hop varietals in both T90 and Cryo formats. The whole process took nearly three hours, and it was great to bounce thoughts around and dive into the technical analysis before making our choices. We feel we've chosen some cracking lots, full of depth and complexity. We are really excited to finally see these hops in action in our first West Coast IPA of 2026!
