English-style barleywine aged nine month sin Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon Barrels The base beer was a simple, classic barleywine brewed with Maris Otter malt, Goldings hops, and ale yeast. An extended boil gave the beer a tawny hue and a decadent array of flavors from caramel and nougat to dates and prunes. In the barrel, the fruit notes faded, giving way to a robust spirit quality and enhancing the caramel flavors.
