Beer description

Front-wortomated green hop bock. The Bock Royal is the crowning glory of the autumn brewing season. Designed as a front-wort bock, the focus here is on the maximum quality of malt, which is enhanced by the noble freshness of green hops from the garden. It is a majestic, strong beer that combines traditional craftsmanship and fresh garden ingredients. As a front-wort bock, only the first, most concentrated part of the brew (the front-wort) was used. The result is a particularly pure, deep and full-bodied malt body without the unrefined bitter substances that could arise during later rinsing of the malt. In the glass, the Bock Royal presents itself in a magnificent, bright copper gold. It is clear, with fine streaks (church windows) on the edge of the glass, revealing the high extract content. The foam crown is dense and cream-colored. In the nose, aromas of freshly baked bread, light caramel and a hint of honey form the foundation. The initial taste is powerful, soft and warming: The body has an extremely full-bodied, almost oily mouthfeel. The sweetness of the front-wort is present, but appears noble and not sticky due to the high original wort content. The bitterness is discreet and elegantly restrained, just as it should be for a bock. However, the green hops contribute an ethereal spiciness that elegantly "opens up" the heavy malt body and gives it an unexpected freshness. The finish is long-lasting, malty-sweet with a final greeting from the hop garden, which fades out dry and slightly resinous. The Bock Royal is a festive beer. It combines the density and strength of a traditional bock with the fleeting, green soul of a fresh hop harvest. The decision to use only the front wort makes it particularly soft and allows the garden hops to shine without overpowering them with too much bitterness.
