Although Bergquell beer has been brewed since 1846, the company was a purely regional brewery for a long time. On its 150th anniversary - in 1996 - the new building in the Löbau-West industrial estate was inaugurated. When Steffen Dittmar took over the management in 1999, the annual output was 7,000 hectoliters of beer.
