Description

The brand Bierbrouwerij is the oldest brewery in the Netherlands. Already in the year 1340 beer was brewed in the place Wijlre in south Limburg. The name already reveals it: The brewery was in 1871 in the possession of the family Brand. Rob Habets, today's brewmaster, is very familiar with the brewery history. "Since the Brand family took over the brewery's management, quality and variety have always been in the foreground," says Rob. Not for nothing is Brand Imperator the oldest craft beer in the Netherlands, as the amber beer has been on offer in the Netherlands since 1949. Also Brand brought in 1952 with Brand UP a Pils after original Czech recipe on the market. In the context also worth mentioning is a special glass, the Pilsflöte: This wafer-thin Pils glass, which has now become standard in the Netherlands, was once introduced by the family Brand.
