Description

Our brewery was sold by the Westermeyer family to the Reichold family in 1906, since then the brewery has been run by the family. In the early years the brewery was already run with employees and beer was produced with great effort. In 1960, Felix Reichold built a 30 hl brewhouse from the company Kaspar Schulz from Bamberg with a then ultra-modern oil burner. Around 1990 we only had an output of 750 hectolitres of beer and the brewery was only a small mainstay alongside agriculture and the inn. It was not until 2000, when Jörg Reichold joined the business after an apprenticeship at the Krug brewery, that investments were made in the brewery again and so Hilmar Reichold bought a new bottling plant, fermentation and storage cellar as well as a lot of empties and a beer hall and finally in 2024 a new fully automatic brewhouse, also from the company Kaspar Schulz from Bamberg, which is now heated with steam. Sales rose to 4000 hl with the general increasing importance of Franconian microbreweries, 3 apprentices were trained and Marcus Brand from Hochstahl was also taken on, who also successfully completed his master brewer in 2022 and still manages the brewery today with Jörg Reichold and is already looking forward to the next worker as my son Felix also started an apprenticeship as a brewer and maltster at the Krug brewery in 2024. On 1.1.25, after 38 years of eventful self-employment, Hilmar Reichold took over the brewery and restaurant.
