Since summer 2020, beer has been brewed in the basement of Haus Atzgersdorf. The residents are involved in all steps - from brewing to labelling the bottles. This is no coincidence, but part of the care. Because a meaningful change promotes both the residents' participation and their motor skills.
After 140 brewing days and 15,000 bottles produced so far, a proud balance could be drawn: "The project promotes community among the residents and is also great fun for them. Even residents with dementia experience a sense of achievement and a sense of togetherness," says Robert Guschelbauer, head of gastronomic management at Häuser zum Leben.
