Brewery, craft and craft beer With our magnificent Austrian/Hungarian brewing plant, the Engel has the very best that is technically possible in craft beer. Multiple tanks allow for proper fermentation and storage, which enhances quality. We also have a bottle-filling machine to supply our shop and restaurant with our own beers. Of course, De Engel can call on several brewers, who create and guard its older and unique recipes. Because De Engel values its craft, but also its independence, it is a member of the industry organisation Craft. An organisation that stands up for the industry and helps promote "smaller" breweries. In addition, we are also listed with the Stichting erfgoed Nederlandse biercultuur and are, of course, a member of Koninklijke Horeca Nederland (KHN). In the Engel, guests will be assured of craft beer with a fair price and clear provenance. Among others, our guests can choose from a very tasty and balanced premium pilsner aka Keulse Knaap or from Moqums wit (Weizen), both of which are brewed the German way. Also dark beers like the Albert Cuypje, which is brewed by us the traditional way and as they very much like to drink in Antwerp. There is much more to choose from, but please come and taste. Because De Engel cares about the environment, we have also thought about sustainability by using energy from heat exchangers.
