Description
As veterans from the festival and catering world, Koen Vollaers and Joost Carlier Club Trouw, Lowlands, Rollende Keukens, Pacific and Club 11 pay homage to them. In 2016, like all of their other projects, Homeland Brewery was born from an idiosyncratic dream and a good dose of opportunity. For example, the kitchen of the former officer's business, now Pension Homeland, was perfect for the installation of a brewery where the then brewer Erik Spratte produced the first of a series of idiosyncratic beers. More than three adventurous years later, the home brewery has grown considerably. At the end of 2017, the boys' club was expanded with Bart Maes as co-owner and managing director. After 20 years of projects around the world, Bart felt it was time for a new challenge with his company Airworks. As a descendant of the Maes brewery family, he has now returned to his roots. With this triumvirate, all the pieces of the puzzle for Homeland Brewery have come together, and Homeland has grown from its own brewery for its own tasting room to a full-fledged Amsterdam brewery.
