Description

It was engineer Eugène De Ro who brewed the first beer in 1898 and renamed the existing dairy "Brouwerij en Melkerij van Haecht". The brewer reacted quickly to the new phenomenon, the warehouse. Brewing did no harm to the company and in 1913 the Haacht Brewery was one of the first producers in Belgium. In 1929 milk production ceased and people concentrated entirely on brewing beer. Bock, Export, Pils and Stout-Ale were sold. In 1937, the Haacht Brewery reached the record of 578,000 hectoliters a year.
