Background Around 1900, several small breweries were active in Kessel and our region. Beer had a limited shelf life and sales were mainly focused on the immediate surroundings. For various reasons, all of them - including De Hoop and Het Anker in Kessel - unfortunately had to close their doors after some time. On a spring day in 2018, the idea arose to restore an own beer for Kessel and region. Challenge What beer are we going to brew? Recipes from earlier times were not available. Beer is enjoyment, brings people together. The starting point is to let as many beer lovers as possible enjoy our regional beer; anywhere in Limburg. We wanted to offer a suitable, high-quality beer for every moment. After much experimentation we succeeded: regional beer that makes you dream. Each with its own taste and character. Completion Paul, Theo and Ger are the Casle Beer Makers. We believe in possibilities, look forward, not backward, and attach great value to having fun and authenticity. To underline Kessel and our region, we have chosen the name Casle and indicate the beer styles in our own dialect. Our clientele has grown to such an extent that Gert's microbrewery has become too small. The Casle beers are now brewed and bottled by a brewer friend of Gert with the same passion for beer as we have. So big deal!
