Description
It all started when Jan-Léonard Moortgat and his wife founded the Moortgat brewery in 1871. At the turn of the century, Moortgat was one of over 3,000 breweries in Belgium. Jan-Léonard experimented a lot, and his top fermented beers were much appreciated in Puurs and beyond. The Brussels bourgeoisie was soon convinced of its beers.
