Description

On July 2, 1854, Messrs. Gustav Thier, Freiherr v. Hövel and Heinrich Sonnenschein the social contract for the foundation of the brewery and malting "of Hövel, Thier & Co". It is a clear commitment to the art of brewing old style, when the founder Baron v. HÖVELS was responsible for naming the house brewery HÖVELS. The recipe for the HÖVELS Original has a tradition of over 100 years. It is a tasty treat from the past to enjoy this beer in the ambience of the HÖVELS Hausbrauerei. 100 years ago, the offered beers were pretty sweet. Since HÖVELS deviated from this general taste trend, the name HÖVELS Original was quickly born. After the traditional original recipe using the finest raw materials, the "fine HÖVELS" is brewed again today. It is certainly no wonder if the taste of today's beer connoisseur was exactly hit with HÖVELS Original. HÖVELS discovered a new, unique taste, which makes each glass a unique pleasure. In February 2017, the HÖVELS portfolio was complemented by two other varieties in addition to the red and gold HÖVELS Original, which impresses with its fine-dry, fruity aroma and mild hop note. The two beer specialties HÖVELS Hop Pale Ale and HÖVELS Craftbock have been added. The amber HÖVELS Hop Pale Ale with orange-brown color complexes convinces with fine citrus and fruity-tart, strong hop note. The red-brown HÖVELS Craftbock, on the other hand, is strong-malty in character with a hint of caramel.
