Brewmaster & Chef Squeegee Operator The founder of Jolly Pumpkin, Ron Jeffries, has over time forgotten more about sour beer than most people will ever know. Luckily he learns everything anew. Every day. Ron Jeffries is in charge of Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales, brewed in Dexter, MI. As Brewmaster, Ron's goal is to gain worldwide recognition as a brewer and creator of beers of outstanding art and grace. He is a philosopher for all good and an outspoken advocate of the slower, more beautiful life. Ron began his brewing science studies in 1991 with the goal of opening his own brewery. He began professionally brewing in 1995 and quickly became a well known and respected brewer in the emerging craft beer scene of Michigan. Driven and committed, he developed from brewer to craftsman, artist, and finally philosopher and visionary. He learned to step back and slow down the hustle and bustle of modern life to a slower, more liveable and enjoyable walk. He learned to smile and laugh. In the summer of 2004, Ron finally opened his own brewery, Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales. Ron runs Jolly Pumpkin and now practices the art of the "Hawaiian time" full time.
