Jopen

The craft beer brewery Jopen arose from the common dream to restore the brewing tradition in Haarlem. The knowledge of the past and the possibilities of the present lead to heavenly craft beers. The story begins in the fourteenth century when Haarlem becomes one of the most important breweries in the Netherlands. Breweries are running at full speed and the bar will be transported in "Jopen" (112-liter barrels) over the Spaarne. The beer is of excellent quality and is even drunk abroad. But the glory comes to an end. In 1916, the last brewery in Haarlem closed its doors.
