Description
Beer has not been brewed in Vrchlabí since 1973, until 1995, when the Krkonoše Bear Mini Brewery and the Hotel Pivovarská Bašta were founded in Hořejší Vrchlabí. Its founder, Mr. Zeman, was aware of the quality of the previously produced Vrchlabský beer and had a water main from the same well from which the water was used for beer production in the former Vrchlabský brewery brought to the brewery. From the beginning, the Krkonoše bear brewed high-quality beer, which won many tasting competitions. Later, due to debts and the interplay of coincidences of life, the production of the juice produced here began to decline, until the building went bankrupt. Now Hotel Pivovarská Bašta together with the mini-brewery Krkonošský medvěd has a new owner who wants to resurrect the reputation of the brewery and put it back on its feet. Classic Czech lagers are produced here, which form the basis of the beer offer, but they are also not afraid to produce other types of special beers. The beer is brewed here from Czech malt, produced by the classic process of germination on hummus. Fine aromatic varieties of Žatec hops are used for the production of lagers. Special types of beer are also produced here, such as American Pale Ale, brewed from American hop varieties, which this year took second place at the Spring Prize for Czech Brewers in Zvíkov.
