Midland Brewing Company developed its’ signature beer – Red Keg Ale, named after the first lumber camp and saloon in Midland County. But during the Great Depression, times were tough and competition was fierce. Even with its damn good beer, the brewery lasted only a few years. Midland Brewing was Reborn in 2010 when Founder, Emeritus Keith Lawrence, and others who picked up the 1930’s Midland Brewing Company brand and re-established a brewery in Midland. Turtle Cove Properties acquired the Brewery, and now small posse of entrepreneurs are connecting our passion for brewing Michigan Craft Beer to Midland’s early history – especially its first 100 years, defined by the lumber, railroad and beer industries. Midland Brewing Company on North Saginaw Road near the three-mile marker of the Pere Marquette Rail Trail, not far from Averill, where the Red Keg Lumber Camp sat by the Tittabawassee River. Since then, we’ve worked to carry on the legacy of the original Midland Brewing Company – brewery even brought back Red Keg Saloon – while innovating own signature brews like Copper Harbor Ale and Midland Brut IPA developing new selections all the time, including our Arbuckle Cold-Brew Coffee Stout and National Award Winning “One Night In Bangkok”, Tangerine and Thai Basil Smoothie IPA.
