Nöhagen Bräu

After a few months of preparation and cheerful fact-finding missions, more than sixty men and women from the 325-inhabitant village of Nöhagen in the southern Waldviertel came together in January 2019 to discuss the details of a planned brewery cooperative. Just 14 days later, the cooperative was launched with 46 founding members. Since the end of April 2019, the 60 members have been brewing their own beer as a hobby for festivals in the village and neighbouring villages. This not only strengthens the community but also the associations such as fire brigades and village renewal. The brewery itself revitalises the ageing clubhouse of the tennis club.
