Description

In 1844 the brewery was founded. At that time it was cooperative property, which means that many craftsmen, such as bakers and butchers, were involved. In 1954, the cooperative brewery had to declare bankruptcy. Gustav Specht bought it and continued to run it with his son Gerd Specht until 1978. From then on, Gerd Specht ran it as a private brewery under his own management until 1990, when the brewery entered the market economy. To continue the family tradition, Gerd Specht's son, Axel Specht, studied brewing science and has been working in the company as a graduate master brewer since 1994. Since 2005, the private brewery G. Specht and A. Specht have been running a GbR together as partners. Currently, about 9000 hl of beer are produced with 7 employees, and every year the production could be increased. With the 6 different types of Pilsner, Landbier, Export, Spezial, Bockbier and Schwarzbier, the Specht brewery sees itself as a specialty brewery.
