Description
The Schlossbrauerei Herrngiersdorf was a brewery in Herrngiersdorf. According to the brewery itself, it was founded in 1131, making it the oldest private brewery in the world. The annual output was around 5,000 hectoliters. Since 1899, the business has been owned by the Pausinger family, who originally came from Landshut.
In 2013, a cooperation agreement was concluded with Ingolstadt-based Herrnbräu. This covers the distribution and logistics of Herrngiersdorf beers. As part of this cooperation, the brewing operations were also transferred to Herrnbräu.
