They chose the name yellowhead for their brewery, and their flagship premium lager because it was the name of the first commercially brewed beer in edmonton. Yellowhead beer originated in 1894 on the site of the present royal glenora club in edmonton’s river valley. Both the original ‘yellowhead’ and our yellowhead premium lager take the name from an actual historical personality: pierre bostonais, aka tête jaune.
