EBS 2025: Breweries with an Impressive Haul

It wasn't just individual categories that made a statement at the European Beer Star 2025; some breweries truly shone. Their multiple medal wins prove that quality isn't an accident—it's the result of consistent work and a clear passion for beer.

Here's a selection of some of the most remarkable winners:

Top Performer

With four gold medals, Hirsch-Brauerei Honer from Wurmlingen, Germany, was the most successful brewery in the competition. They won for their Hirsch Hefe Weisse, Hirsch Kristall Weisse, the Kellerpils Hirsch Zwuckl, and Natürliches Donau Radler Blutorange (Beer Mix Beverage). This brings the brewery's total European Beer Star awards to an impressive 41, a testament to their consistent excellence.

Hop Art an more from Brazil

Brewine Leopoldina from Brazil made a strong statement with multiple wins. They took home gold for Leopoldina Session IPA, Leopoldina IPA, and Leopoldina Italian Grape Ale Riesling. They also won a silver for their Italian Grape Ale made with Gewurztraminer. This stylistic range, from fruity grape ales to hop-forward sessions, shows that Brazil is a place where beer culture is truly thriving.

Four from Poland

The Polish brewery Trzech Kumpli was honored with four awards, a remarkable achievement for the team from Tarnów. They took home a gold for their Koźlak (Dunkler Bock) and the non-alcoholic stout Unplugged. They also won a silver for the powerful Ragnar in the Ultra Strong Beer category, while the Porter Bałtycki earned a bronze.

Four-Time Success for Vienna

Vienna's Ottakringer Brauerei also had a great showing, taking home four awards. The traditional brewery won gold for their Red Ale, Brauwerk Hellberry, and Null Komma Josef Radler Zitrone Minze (Non-alcoholic Beer Mix Beverage). They also secured bronze for their Ottakringer Bio-Zwickl Dunkel (German-Style Kellerbier Dunkel) and Citrus Radler (Beer Mix Beverage).

Five-Time Celebration in Varese

Stylish and Experimental

MC77 Birrificio Artigianale from Serrapetrona, Italy, also deserves special mention. The brewery won five awards, including a gold for San Lorenzo (Belgian-Style Witbier) and a silver for Glu Glu (International-Style Ale). They also picked up three bronze medals for BowTie (Hazy IPA), A Promise Kept (Experimental Beer), and Punto (Session IPA). This shows how MC77 successfully blends stylistic variety with creative experimentation.
