If there's one true measure of international brewing excellence, it's the European Beer Star. The 2025 competition once again saw beers tasted, judged, and awarded, with an international jury selecting the top contenders across 74 style categories from 2,202 submitted beers.
Germany led the medal tally with an impressive 71 awards, including 22 golds. Italy followed with 37 medals, and Austria with 14. The USA (19 medals) and Poland (9) also made it into the top 5. Awards were given to breweries from 22 countries in total, including regions not typically known for their beer, such as Peru, India, and Thailand.
A First for Beer Mixes
For the first time in the competition's history, the European Beer Star 2025 recognized beer mixes, with separate categories for alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions. This new category shows the competition's commitment to modern drinking trends and highlights the craftsmanship behind a segment that has often been overlooked.
