Stammtisch Saarlouis: Beer Culture in the Saarland

For several years now, a very special beer club has been meeting in Saarlouis, in the Saarland region of Germany: local beer enthusiasts gather every Monday to taste different beers together – and, of course, to rate them in the BeerTasting App.

The Stammtisch was founded by Pascal “Donri” Reiter, who had the idea to bring beer lovers together around one table. Today, about 10 participants meet regularly, and sometimes as many as 20 on special evenings. Everyone brings along beers – whether from travels, online orders, or local shops – creating an exciting variety each week. On average, the group manages to taste and review around 18 beers per session. A single bottle is shared among several glasses, so everyone gets to take part in the experience.

But the Stammtisch has grown into more than just beer tasting: new friendships have been formed, discussions about beer flow as freely as the drinks, and there’s always laughter and good company. Just last week, our BeerTasting team joined in: Peter Reimann had the honor of tasting alongside the group for the very first time.

👉 Now we’d love to hear from you:
Do you also have tasting groups like the one in Saarlouis? How do you organize your meetups? Where do you find your beers – online, during travels, or locally? And have you also formed new friendships through your tastings?

Share your stories with us in the comments – we can’t wait to read them!
