Beer description
By aging the classic Duvel in Irish whiskey oak barrels, this specialty beer acquired powerful smoky notes of oak and vanilla and a deeper, copper-colored hue.
Hedwig Neven, master brewer: “From exotic Barbados—where we sourced the rum barrels for the latest Barrel Aged batch—we headed to Dublin, Ireland. We reached out to a fantastic distillery with a solid reputation and a long history. Not only did we meet passionate distillers there, but at Teeling Whiskey we also found the perfect barrels to age our Duvel in. That’s always exciting, because you really only have ‘one shot’ to get it right, and you never know how the flavor will evolve. But I’m incredibly proud of the result, and I hope my colleagues in Dublin enjoy it too.”
