Beer description
The Dubbel beer comes from the Trappist Abbey of Westmalle, where it is still brewed today. Dubbel (double) refers to the higher alcohol content, with our content in the middle of the scale at 7.1% Alk. / Vol. This Dubbel has a deep brown color and a sweet caramel flavor. Aromas of berries, dark fruits and nuts with a muted malt background. While Pilsener Malts supplies the dubbel base, its color comes mostly from the addition of Belgian "Candi" syrup, a traditional ingredient that has been added for the complexity of the aroma and the alcohol content. The interaction between the candi syrup and the complex aromas produced by the in-house yeast give this dubble its characteristic taste and well integrate it into the trappist tradition.
