Beer description

The term "triple" denotes a beer style that originated in the Belgian Trappist monasteries. It is a strong, gold-colored beer that was brewed by the brewery in Westmalle in response to the growing trend of light lager beers from Bohemia and Germany. Tripels differ from other golden strong ales by the dominant flavors conveyed by the classic yeast strains of the various monasteries. This triple can be described as a stronger, sweeter, more complex version of the Belgian blonde. It's a highly carbonated golden ale that relies heavily on the flavors of our yeast for longer than average bottle conditioning. This beer is very easy to drink, despite its strength, and offers an aroma of subtle spice mixed with a generous yeast character. The strength of the beer is balanced by a light malty sweetness and generous carbonation.
