Beer description

Laurentius, in Czech Lawrence, was between the years 1650 - 1691 the 33rd abbot of the Osek monastery. He is called the "second founder" of the monastery, mainly because he was responsible for its reconstruction after the fire that Osek suffered in 1641. He initiated a Baroque reconstruction of the whole area, set up a fruit and vegetable garden, and restored craft workshops. Light, bottom-fermented, unfiltered and unpasteurized special, in which one of the less used varieties of Czech hops, such as Bohemia, Harmonie, Rubín, Vital, dominates together with the Saaz semi-early hops. These give the beer a higher bitterness and character typical for a particular variety.
