Pivovar Lajka Able

The Able beer meets two brewing traditions - the continental bottom-fermented beer and the American version of ejls markedly hopped with fruit-like hops. Following the example of the IPA style, this kind of "lager" is called India Pale Lager. Our version is rather lighter, but significantly fermented. The Macaque Able was sent as a 480 km ballistic missile with a Miss Baker, Neurospora, human blood samples, Escherichia coli bacteria, onions, corn and mustard seeds, flies, yeasts, urchin eggs and semen as part of the US space program. The flight was successful and the crew survived, but Able died four days later as a result of anesthesia-induced heart failure.
