Beer description
Stouts are very dark, malty beers with a fine-pored, voluminous head. The malt is very dominant in the initial taste and is absorbed by a clear hop bitterness in the final drink. There is now a wide range of different stouts from Milk, Chocolate, Imperial, ... stouts or a mixture of them. Often with an alcohol content of well over 10%. How do we do it? Our stout is more like an Irish stout. Not so alcoholic and with a moderate malt note that is captured well by the addition of hops. The roasted malt used ensures the very dark, black color and the roasted aromas. How does it taste? In the initial taste, the malt note and the roasted aromas of coffee and dark chocolate are very dominant. The mouthfeel is sparkling and very full-bodied. In the finish there is a distinct bitterness that perfectly balances out the sweetness of the malt. The addition of oat malt makes the taste and mouthfeel nice and soft. One variant, the Maple Stout, is fermented with maple syrup in the second fermentation. The sugar in the syrup is completely fermented. All that remains is the maple aroma in the beer, which harmonizes perfectly with the malt notes. How is it drunk? From a nonic pint at 8 °. What goes with it? Maybe a chocolate cake or a dark chocolate mousse. Optionally, however, vanilla ice cream as a contrast. In addition, a strong cheese such as Stilton or dishes with dark meat or a few grilled spare ribs in summer.
