Description

The origins of the Bürgerliches Brauhaus Wiesen date back to 1888. At that time, the brewery belonged to numerous citizens from Wiesen and the Upper Kahlgrund, a region rich in forests and meadows in the legendary Hochspessart. The takeover by master brewer Christof Hartmann in 1913 marked the beginning of a new era for the brewery in Wiesen. The success story of the specialty beers from Wiesen is now being continued by the third and fourth generations. Karola and Ina Elsesser, two women at the helm of the company, are leading the traditional brand into the future with a sense of responsibility and high standards of quality. Nestled between gentle slopes, hills, and deep valleys, Wiesen produces fine beverage specialties of exceptional quality. The soft, mineral-rich water from the nearby Aubach spring and the brewing grain grown by Bavarian and Hessian farmers on the fertile fields of the Spessart-Bundsteinplatte are the basis for exceptionally harmonious beers. The pure air of untouched nature amidst extensive mixed and oak forests creates the ideal conditions for exceptionally aromatic products that clearly distinguish themselves from beers from urban centers. In Hochspessart, framed by the Main, Kinzig, and Sinn rivers, people understand the value of an unspoiled world and the careful use of natural resources. In doing so, they have always retained their enjoyment of down-to-earth, honest pleasures. In this tradition, we understand our role today as a regional family brewery: We brew fine beer specialties from the best our homeland has to offer: Wiesener beer – artisanal, honest... Simply good!
