The motto of Hohenthanner Castle Brewery is 'Preserving tradition while remaining open to the new.' The brewery has a history of over 150 years and has been continuously owned by the Rauchenecker family. Independence is just as important to them as the craftsmanship of their brewers and the use of locally sourced ingredients. Hops are grown right at their doorstep, as they are located in the Hallertau, one of the largest hop-growing regions in the world, . The brewmaster personally knows the hop farmers and regularly visits the fields in the summer to ensure that the 'green gold,' as he affectionately calls hops, is growing and thriving. The brewery's range of products reflects what is meant by tradition and innovation. In addition to a wide selection of Bavarian beer varieties, they also offer craft beers, all with a distinct Bavarian touch.
