Description

Brewmaster Martin Schimpf is the fifth breeder to run the Kronenbrauerei in Remmingsheim, which was founded in 1870 by the Ohngemach family in the center of the Stäble village. In 1878, Julius Schimpf acquired the present-day brewery area and, together with his wife Karoline, laid the foundation stone for the growing family brewing tradition that has continued to this day. In 1919, the restaurant and brewery were expanded into a commercial brewery, which developed into a medium-sized company in the 1930s. In 1970 Hermann Schimpf followed in the footsteps of his parents Alfred and Maria. After completing his brewing school, his son Alfred took over the management of the company in 1984 as brewmaster, while his brother Hermann Schimpf has since run the restaurant. After the Remmingsheimer beer specialties acquired a good reputation in the region over many years, the brewery family decided in 1992 to give the Kronenbrauerei their surname, in order to make the personal, family commitment to the outside clear. Since 2012, Martin Schimpf continues as brewer and manager the family tradition.
