Description

Impressive personalities, family happiness and the love of beer characterize the history of the Schnaitl private brewery. But also fateful events. With Matthias Schnaitl IV., the next generation took over the management in 2002. Since then, the beers have regularly and very successfully taken part in quality competitions such as the DLG award, the Monde Selection, the Austrian Beer Award, the Culinarix, the brewing seal of quality and the Meininger Award. In 2006 the former Stehl-Keller reopened as a year-round operation, the Schnaitl Stadtgasthaus. Another important renovation followed: the Schnaitl Braugasthof in Gundertshausen has been a three-star hotel and event location with gastronomy since 2012. Since 2010, a hop show garden right next to the Schnaitl brewery has drawn attention to the raw materials used in beer production. In addition, malting barley has been cultivated on the brewery's own agricultural land since 2012. In 2013, the production of Schnaitl beers rose to a peak of 12,500 hectoliters. To date, several new varieties have been introduced under the direction of Matthias Schnaitl IV: Schnaitl "Dunkel" in barrel and bottle (2006), Schnaitl "Radler naturtrüb" (2012), Schnaitl "Maibock" (2013) and 2015 first production and very successful introduction of the Christmas festival beer "Silent Night".
