Description

In 2012, the Zichovec Family Brewery was established in the village of the same name, located near the town of Slaný. However, the project did not only include the construction of the brewery. The aim was to improve the whole village, and therefore a new municipal office, guesthouse, colonial, restaurant, social hall and, in addition, a chapel were built on a green field. It has remained symbolic for our brewery and has become part of our visual identity. Over time, as our exhibitions, beer offer and number of collaborators grew, the original brewery in Zichovec became small. So in 2016 we moved production to a renovated former tank shooting range in Louny. The tanks have thus returned to their original location. Our sons Ondřej and Jan took control of the operation. They became interested in new beer styles and thus incorporated a wide range of beer specialties into the portfolio, which are now characteristic for our brewery. Today, we brew around 60 beers a year in our brewery. While it's possible that in a little while we won't officially be a microbrewery on paper, that doesn't mean we've turned away from the way we've practiced the craft up until now, which is with humility and respect, but also a little bit of a crazy desire to experiment.
