One of more eccentric brews, center to a semi-cult following at the pub, Scots d'Ale is brewed with a blend of crystal and lightly-roasted malts to produce a toasty caramel-laden body, lightly hopped with UK Target and Hallertauer Mittelfrüh, and then fermented with a UK yeast strain promoting the malt-forward flavor theme. Split from tradition by adding a tempered dose of peat-smoked malt to the mash, lending a noticeable smokiness to the finish that is the unmistakable signature of this beer.
